Now, that I'm in treatment for cancer, I no longer take any of my days for granted. I want you to do the same.  Everyday, when you wake up, be thankful for another day of life. Whatever needs to be taken care of, just do it.  I also mean relationships, if there are any loose ends that need to be resolved, I encourage you do so.  We really never know when our life will end and, until that time comes for me, I want to make sure I have no regrets. This piece of artwork is from my heart.  The verse states "Life is Like a Rose, it will wilt, if not watered."  Make sure to water your life everyday with love, hope, happiness, and kindness for your family, friends and, neighbors.

Wishing you all the best!

Wishing You...

As I am receiving treatment, I will try my best to keep up with my web blog.  Today, the message is short, although, comes from my heart.

Friday, April 29, 2016

Hello, some of you may have noticed, I have not been on my blog as of late. Two months ago, I was diagnosed with stage two cancer.  After, having three stressful years, I am now a firm believer, stress is not good for our body, especially chronic stress. I will be in treatment for 6 weeks, thereafter, my hope is to be cancer free.  I now realize what it means to be diagnosed with cancer.  It's not an easy road to walk. All the emotions and fear that comes along with it. Although, after, starting treatment, my fear has now vanished and, I am ready to kick this beast in the butt. I have a really good support team, God, my wonderful team of doctors, my husband, family and friends. If you or any of your family members have been diagnosed with cancer, my prayer for you and for them is to receive healing from this disease. Thank you for visiting my web blog.

May God Bless You and Your Family!!

What inspires you? Muse. Magic. Leave room for inspiration to flow through in and out of you.  Daily inspiration.  It could music, writing, painting...whatever it is for you, just do it.  Move forward, create magic.  Below is the surface pattern I created yesterday in the round.  Bright and cheerful!!

Spring is almost here.  I am excited. How about you? XO

That's it! What's more to say...I love working with ink.

Have a great weekend!! XO

Tuesday, January 26, 2016

I do not have one or two techniques, but, many.  I like drawing, painting, using the calligraphy pen and, color.  There are times, I often paint many motifs, afterwards, I start placing together in a design pattern.  It's always good to challenge ourselves with creativity.  My work is often successful when I am not really thinking about the end results, but, rather allow the creativity to flow freely.

Below is a new piece of artwork.  I hope you adore it as much as I do. Auditioning three different colorways.

I have my own style, which, I truly love and adore.

Wishing you a fabulous week. XO

From time to time, I like playing around with colors and design elements, creating nothing in particular.  The piece of artwork below shows how much fun creating can be for those having the desire. There are times, it just needs to be you and, your creativity.  The paints, paper, paint brushes, various mediums, it's all yours for the taking.  Jump in this weekend and, play.

Please, do not worry about the artwork being perfect.  Imperfections are beautiful. XO

Have a fabulous weekend!!

I have developed a very intuitive way of creating, since I am basically a self-taught artist, although, I have taken years of arts classes, private, group and, online (Internet) classes as well.  I did not attend an art institute, so I am considered self-taught. If you are self-taught, move forward in learning new skills. With having the internet, there are so many online classes, one can not say "I am not able to learn new art skills", because, if you really want to learn, you can achieve it.

Below is my latest piece of artwork.  I am calling the art "Flower Power", just for fun.

Wishing you a fantastic day. XO

"When tea becomes ritual, it takes its place at the heart of our ability to see greatness in small things." - Muriel Barbery.  I want you to know that you have "Greatness" within you. Remember to smile, enjoy the day that is given to you. Do not look to the past, only look forward to the future, but, also be present in the moment.  Cherish Moments of Solitude. Make sure to laugh often and, make time to play.

I hope my latest piece of artwork places a smile on your face. "Artistic Calm"

"The Good Life is Waiting for You." XO

My online art journal process is very easy and simple.  I am not much of a writer as you may have discovered.  My everyday life is creating artwork, mixed media with watercolor. I like posting what I create to encourage other people to join me in the world of creativity, because it's good for our body and soul.  It takes us to a place of relaxation, where we can move into a different zone.  If you have a bad day, not feeling well or your mood is just not what you would like it to be, creating, can be a wonderful outlet. Give it a try!! I believe you will be surprised how revived you will feel afterwards.

Below is my latest creation.  I really love this piece of artwork, because it looks like corduroy material.  I added a few butterflies for interest.

Moving on to the next...hopefully, I will be able to post a new piece of artwork, tomorrow.  Wishing you joy and peace. XO

New artwork from my studio.  Mixed Media, of course.  Last week, I started working on new techniques, which I love to do.  I am a firm believer, we as creatives, need to push forward and think out of the box.  It's really uplifting to our soul. We never know what the end results will look like and, that is the beauty of learning something new.  Maybe, this week, you will jump on the train with me and, branch out in a different direction.  Below is the artwork, I created this afternoon.

I hope you will find it inspirational to the point where you would like to create a new piece of artwork with new techniques you have never tried before.

Wishing you a wonderful creative week. XO

Well, we have another year behind us and, another year ahead of us. I never make new years resolutions, because, I have a difficult time keeping them.  I believe it's best to make small goals for each week and, try our best to accomplish the goals.

Lets, now, move on to new artwork.  Before, the Christmas Season, I designed a mixed media piece of artwork, which I really like.  I am posting below.  I hope you like it as well.

I wish everyone that follows my blog a fabulous 2016!! XO

I read an article by Sebastian Michaels, Fine Art Grunge, that sometimes, it's good to get dirty, which is what mixed media grunge is all about.  With the art below, I decided to get a little "dirty" and place more grunge within the artwork.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. XO

Last week, I created mixed media artwork that is a little different, I love how the art came together. My Grand-daughter, 8 yrs. old, loves giraffes, so this piece of artwork is for her.

Wishing everyone a fabulous week. XO

Wednesday, November 18, 2015

I started this piece of artwork with a different look and feel in mind, although, as I moved along with the creative process, something totally new started to emerge.  The artwork quickly took on a life of it's own. I decided to go with the flow and allow the creativity to unfold. Maybe, the artwork can be called "A Serendipitous Surprise." I love being creative, it's not just something I do, it's actually who I am, an artist.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to create a magical world that is all my own. XO

The mixed media artwork below speaks to me and says "Come Fly Away with Me" into a chanted garden, where we can fly around in green meadows.  Do you ever have those days, where you just want to fly away and, forget all that is around you, to be peaceful and still?  I can honestly say, I have those was one of them.  It was my desire to cherish the moments of solitude, to slow down and stay connected. I love listening to instrumental music while I create. One of my all time favorite music soundtrack is from the movie "The Duchess", the music is beautiful and very peaceful.

I hope your evening is filled with cherished moments of solitude. XO

Sometimes, I just like to throw a design together, like in "Child's Play." Children are very free with their creativity, no fear.  They just start drawing and painting without a care in the world.  How wonderful it is to be that free.... One of my goals for 2016, not to worry what others are thinking about my artwork.  To be able to create without inhibitions. How about you? How free do you want to be in life?  It's something to think about, because when we worry, it hinders our ability to create with freedom. Below, "Child's Play."

I had a wonderful time painting and designing the mixed media artwork. Wishing you the freedom to create with no worries.  Have a delight weekend. XO

I love the autumn weather, the leaves having been changing to their brilliant colors. Soon, Thanksgiving will be upon us, sharing with family and friends, laughter and joy. Ever since, I was a young girl, I have loved the holidays. The planning, the hustle and excitement...then, before we know it, the holidays have come and gone and, a new year has arrived.  What will you be planning for in the upcoming new year?  I hope you will make time to think upon which road you want to take in life and, when you decide, jump in with both feet. Today, I took the time to create new artwork, I am going to call it Reflections, as a reminder to myself to not reflect upon the past, but to move forward into the present and future.  I hope you will do the same.

Wishing you a day filled with laughter and joy. XO

That, I am now involved with Mixed Media.  Yup!!  That's correct.  I have found a "New Love" for my surface patterns.  It's all about risks when it comes to creativity. Remember, my last post, I wrote about the "Bliss" of creation? Well that's how we find the bliss, trying out new techniques, new mediums, paper, brushes, etc.  You know, where I am going with this post. Branch out and try a creative for yourself.  The artwork below is what I created in the studio today.  I hope you find a "New Love" with creativity, which will bring joy and happiness into your life.

May the rest of your week be full of "Bliss." XO

Over the years, my life and artwork have evolved, as with any other artist. We're aware as we move along in life, the twists and turns, will occur.  My life is a juggling act, I wear many hats throughout the day. My studio is a place where I can slip away in the bliss of creativity, where my mind is filled with peace and joy, which allows my physical body to be rejuvenated. Creativity is my foundation to everyday life events. Last week, I was able to move into the bliss of my foundation. The artwork below is what arrived from the creativity of my day.

One more "Chevron Delight" with a little more grunge.  I Love it!

My wish for you is to have a fabulous week. XO

Aunt Phyllis traveled around the world to complete the genealogy for their family (Paternal side), she was unable to unearth genealogy for their Mother (my Grandmother), because she and her sister were placed on a Orphan Train, when they were 5 and 10 years old.  Living in NY, Orphan Trains were quite common.

When I visit with my Mom, we always like to chat about the genealogy of her family.  It's amazing how family history travels through time.  I decided on one of my visits to borrow some of the family history documents to use in one of my mixed media art pieces. Dates of documents, range from late 1700's to late 1800's, except for my Mom's birth certificate. There are five documents within the artwork that pertain to my Mom's family history.  While thinking about my Mom, the artwork below is what flowed through me... The artwork will be professionally printed, framed and, presented to my Mom.  Maybe, you will think about creating mixed media artwork for your family.  It will be something special from you and, can be treasured by family members for a lifetime.

Sincerely, XO

This is what happens when an artist is watching too many King and Queen movies and, listening to movie music scores while creating. This week, I have been creating almost everyday, I hope you have been doing the same. Creativity blossoms our souls.

Wishing you a creative weekend and, if you have small children, have fun with your family on Halloween.  XO

This morning, I noticed it was misty outside, soon, winter will arrive.  In the past, I really did not enjoy winter, it's cold, dark, and rainy.  Although, as I became involved with watercolor painting, mix and matching designs, I actually started to enjoy the winter months.  Today was one of those days, so I decided to work on several digital mixed media.  With antique fabric and wallpaper, my freehand watercolor motifs, I created the piece of artwork below. It's amazing how our thoughts change as we move forward in life...Hello, Winter!!

Wishing everyone a beautiful week.  XO

In order to be irreplaceable, one must, always be different.  A statement from Coco Chanel.  I really do believe she was correct. One of my favorite aspects of creating with Adobe PS and AI is having the freedom to experiment.  Creating digital collages gives one the opportunity to try various techniques, depending on the artists forte.  I really enjoy experimenting as you can see from the collage below. You may want to consider creating a digital mixed media, the freedom will be all yours, with less pressure.

Until the next digital collage.  Have a fabulous day.  XO

Sometimes, I can grow weary with following my dreams... When this starts to happen, I have to remember to keep pushing forward... if you are feeling weary about following your dreams, please, push forward... Do not give up.

Below is a piece of artwork to help you smile.  I believe in Angels...Do you?

Wishing you a wonderful day.  XO

This past weekend, my husband and I, attended the Alameda Point Antiques Faire for the very first time.  I am not really sure why we have never attended the Faire, we only live 2.5 hrs away from Alameda.  As we were walking around, I quickly realized, we will be attending the Faire more often.  I was able to purchase a Victorian Parlor chair and my husband purchased aviation memorabilia.  If you live in California and love antiques, please attend, you will not be disappointed.  Faire information below:

If you have a favorite antique faire in California that you enjoy attending, please, post a message, so we can attend as well.

As some you know, I have been creating mixed media artwork from my watercolor motifs and antique papers.  Below is a new collage for your enjoyment.

Sincerely, XO

I am always seeking a new level of creativity for my artwork.  I enjoy mixing my watercolor artwork with mix media techniques.  I have been pondering this idea for quite some time. I love taking my watercolor images and morphing it into a new piece of artwork. These steps are how I started playing with mix media, one image at a time, became an entire piece of artwork.  You will notice, I love using antique script in my artwork.  I enjoy the written word and, sadly its coming to an end with emails and text messaging, therefore, I decided to incorporate the written word into my pieces of artwork.
Below is my first watercolor mix media artwork created in my studio.

I hope you enjoy my new found creativity. Please, share your thoughts and, your mixed media web blog.  I would love to visit.  XO

Thank you for reading my blog.
