STRENGTH HOPE LOVE CURE I hope one day there will be a cure for all cancers. Wouldn't that be wonderful? I do know not all cancers are curable. This is what I hope and pray for that each individual fighting cancer will be cured. The artwork below is for YOU.
EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE.... Will you allow yourself to go there? To imagine everything that life has to offer you? If we would allow ourselves to imagine all the possibilities, we would have so much to do in life in the way of living and creating, it would be endless. The message below is a little bit Picasso, the famous painter and, a little bit me. When I seen the quote from Picasso, I started wondering about my own imagination and, I how hinder it and, I do not always allow it to blossom. The imagination is wonderful, it can take us anywhere, if we allow it. So, go ahead, use it, where will it take you, what will you be doing?
This week, I was thinking about all the artwork I have created, wondering what to do with it all. Since, the end of 2012, so much has happened in my life. Many ups and downs, twists and turns. With that being said, I have decided to place the artwork with inspirational calligraphy quotes to uplift others that may be struggling through life. I believe everyone needs prayer and encouragement. Don't You? The message below is about Love, to make sure we Cherish it and, do not throw it away needlessly. If you are loved by your family and friends, please make sure to return the love back to them. Never take love for granted.
CANCER FREE On Tuesday, July 19th, I had an appointment with the Oncologist and, received very good news. I am CANCER FREE!! I am very grateful to my family, friends, and doctors. I want to say Thank You so much for your love and support. I will forever be grateful!!
COCO CHANEL - INSPIRES! To all the Coco Chanel's, wishing you a wonderful weekend. I will be spending time with family, which is always fun. I have now returned to designing, full-time. Can you envision the smile on my face. I am very happy to say the least. I hope this blog spot finds you happy and healthy.
REACHING OUT TO SAY "HELLO" I hope your summer is going well and that you're having a great time. New artwork from my studio. Mixing artwork with calligraphy. I am having so much fun. Love learning something new. Maybe, you will give creativity a try. Being creative is a wonderful way to heal the body, mind and, soul.
JOY COMES IN THE MORNING I am so happy to announce, I have finished Chemo/Radiation therapy. It has been a long road. Without God, my doctors, my family and friends, I am not sure, I would be typing this blog post. I was supported all the way through treatment, which I am truly grateful. If you have never had radiation, it takes you to the brink of death, depending on where you receive radiation. The recovery was horrible and very difficult to overcome. Without my husband taking care of me on a daily basis, I would of not been able to make it through. He was so loving and caring towards me, it really helped me to stay strong. I have been praying for all cancer patients. My hope is that everyone will be healed from this disease. It seems, that cancer is hitting people more and more each day and, it's not an easy road to walk. I am asking for everyone reading this post, please pray for all cancer patients or anyone who is dealing with a physical or emotional illness. Prayer is very important!!
I am so happy to be sitting up and typing this message. It truly is a miracle!!
MAKE EACH DAY COUNT Now, that I'm in treatment for cancer, I no longer take any of my days for granted. I want you to do the same. Everyday, when you wake up, be thankful for another day of life. Whatever needs to be taken care of, just do it. I also mean relationships, if there are any loose ends that need to be resolved, I encourage you do so. We really never know when our life will end and, until that time comes for me, I want to make sure I have no regrets. This piece of artwork is from my heart. The verse states "Life is Like a Rose, it will wilt, if not watered." Make sure to water your life everyday with love, hope, happiness, and kindness for your family, friends and, neighbors.
Hello, some of you may have noticed, I have not been on my blog as of late. Two months ago, I was diagnosed with stage two cancer. After, having three stressful years, I am now a firm believer, stress is not good for our body, especially chronic stress. I will be in treatment for 6 weeks, thereafter, my hope is to be cancer free. I now realize what it means to be diagnosed with cancer. It's not an easy road to walk. All the emotions and fear that comes along with it. Although, after, starting treatment, my fear has now vanished and, I am ready to kick this beast in the butt. I have a really good support team, God, my wonderful team of doctors, my husband, family and friends. If you or any of your family members have been diagnosed with cancer, my prayer for you and for them is to receive healing from this disease. Thank you for visiting my web blog.
May God Bless You and Your Family!! Sincerely, Franchelle
INSPIRED BY ART What inspires you? Muse. Magic. Leave room for inspiration to flow through in and out of you. Daily inspiration. It could music, writing, painting...whatever it is for you, just do it. Move forward, create magic. Below is the surface pattern I created yesterday in the round. Bright and cheerful!!
Spring is almost here. I am excited. How about you? XO
NO EXPECTATIONS I do not have one or two techniques, but, many. I like drawing, painting, using the calligraphy pen and, color. There are times, I often paint many motifs, afterwards, I start placing together in a design pattern. It's always good to challenge ourselves with creativity. My work is often successful when I am not really thinking about the end results, but, rather allow the creativity to flow freely. Below is a new piece of artwork. I hope you adore it as much as I do. Auditioning three different colorways.
I have my own style, which, I truly love and adore.
From time to time, I like playing around with colors and design elements, creating nothing in particular. The piece of artwork below shows how much fun creating can be forthose having the desire. There are times, it just needs to be you and, your creativity. The paints, paper, paint brushes, various mediums, it's all yours for the taking. Jump in this weekend and, play.
Please, do not worry about the artwork being perfect. Imperfections are beautiful. XO Have a fabulous weekend!! Sincerely, Franchelle
FLOWER POWER I have developed a very intuitive way of creating, since I am basically a self-taught artist, although, I have taken years of arts classes, private, group and, online (Internet) classes as well. I did not attend an art institute, so I am considered self-taught. If you are self-taught, move forward in learning new skills. With having the internet, there are so many online classes, one can not say "I am not able to learn new art skills", because, if you really want to learn, you can achieve it. Below is my latest piece of artwork. I am calling the art "Flower Power", just for fun.
Wishing you a fantastic day. XO Sincerely, Franchelle
"When tea becomes ritual, it takes its place at the heart of our ability to see greatness in small things." - Muriel Barbery. I want you to know that you have "Greatness" within you. Remember to smile, enjoy the day that is given to you. Do not look to the past, only look forward to the future, but, also be present in the moment. Cherish Moments of Solitude. Make sure to laugh often and, make time to play.
I hope my latest piece of artwork places a smile on your face. "Artistic Calm"
"The Good Life is Waiting for You." XO Sincerely, Franchelle
MY WAY My online art journal process is very easy and simple. I am not much of a writer as you may have discovered. My everyday life is creating artwork, mixed media with watercolor. I like posting what I create to encourage other people to join me in the world of creativity, because it's good for our body and soul. It takes us to a place of relaxation, where we can move into a different zone. If you have a bad day, not feeling well or your mood is just not what you would like it to be, creating, can be a wonderful outlet. Give it a try!! I believe you will be surprised how revived you will feel afterwards. Below is my latest creation. I really love this piece of artwork, because it looks like corduroy material. I added a few butterflies for interest.
Moving on to the next...hopefully, I will be able to post a new piece of artwork, tomorrow. Wishing you joy and peace. XO Sincerely, Franchelle
WELCOME MONDAY! New artwork from my studio. Mixed Media, of course. Last week, I started working on new techniques, which I love to do. I am a firm believer, we as creatives, need to push forward and think out of the box. It's really uplifting to our soul. We never know what the end results will look like and, that is the beauty of learning something new. Maybe, this week, you will jump on the train with me and, branch out in a different direction. Below is the artwork, I created this afternoon.
I hope you will find it inspirational to the point where you would like to create a new piece of artwork with new techniques you have never tried before. Wishing you a wonderful creative week. XO Sincerely, Franchelle
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Well, we have another year behind us and, another year ahead of us. I never make new years resolutions, because, I have a difficult time keeping them. I believe it's best to make small goals for each week and, try our best to accomplish the goals. Lets, now, move on to new artwork. Before, the Christmas Season, I designed a mixed media piece of artwork, which I really like. I am posting below. I hope you like it as well.
I wish everyone that follows my blog a fabulous 2016!! XO Franchelle
GETTING GRUNGY I read an article by Sebastian Michaels, Fine Art Grunge, that sometimes, it's good to get dirty, which is what mixed media grunge is all about. With the art below, I decided to get a little "dirty" and place more grunge within the artwork.
LIFE IS GOOD I started this piece of artwork with a different look and feel in mind, although, as I moved along with the creative process, something totally new started to emerge. The artwork quickly took on a life of it's own. I decided to go with the flow and allow the creativity to unfold. Maybe, the artwork can be called "A Serendipitous Surprise." I love being creative, it's not just something I do, it's actually who I am, an artist.
I am so grateful to have the opportunity to create a magical world that is all my own. XO
BUTTERFLY MONDAY The mixed media artwork below speaks to me and says "Come Fly Away with Me" into a chanted garden, where we can fly around in green meadows. Do you ever have those days, where you just want to fly away and, forget all that is around you, to be peaceful and still? I can honestly say, I have those days...today was one of them. It was my desire to cherish the moments of solitude, to slow down and stay connected. I love listening to instrumental music while I create. One of my all time favorite music soundtrack is from the movie "The Duchess", the music is beautiful and very peaceful.
I hope your evening is filled with cherished moments of solitude. XO Sincerely, Franchelle
Sometimes, I just like to throw a design together, like in "Child's Play." Children are very free with their creativity, no fear. They just start drawing and painting without a care in the world. How wonderful it is to be that free.... One of my goals for 2016, not to worry what others are thinking about my artwork. To be able to create without inhibitions. How about you? How free do you want to be in life? It's something to think about, because when we worry, it hinders our ability to create with freedom. Below, "Child's Play."
I had a wonderful time painting and designing the mixed media artwork. Wishing you the freedom to create with no worries. Have a delight weekend. XO
AUTUMN IS HERE I love the autumn weather, the leaves having been changing to their brilliant colors. Soon, Thanksgiving will be upon us, sharing with family and friends, laughter and joy. Ever since, I was a young girl, I have loved the holidays. The planning, the hustle and excitement...then, before we know it, the holidays have come and gone and, a new year has arrived. What will you be planning for in the upcoming new year? I hope you will make time to think upon which road you want to take in life and, when you decide, jump in with both feet. Today, I took the time to create new artwork, I am going to call it Reflections, as a reminder to myself to not reflect upon the past, but to move forward into the present and future. I hope you will do the same.
Wishing you a day filled with laughter and joy. XO
RUMOR HAS IT!! That, I am now involved with Mixed Media. Yup!! That's correct. I have found a "New Love" for my surface patterns. It's all about risks when it comes to creativity. Remember, my last post, I wrote about the "Bliss" of creation? Well that's how we find the bliss, trying out new techniques, new mediums, paper, brushes, etc. You know, where I am going with this post. Branch out and try a creative for yourself. The artwork below is what I created in the studio today. I hope you find a "New Love" with creativity, which will bring joy and happiness into your life.
CHEVRON DELIGHT Over the years, my life and artwork have evolved, as with any other artist. We're aware as we move along in life, the twists and turns, will occur. My life is a juggling act, I wear many hats throughout the day. My studio is a place where I can slip away in the bliss of creativity, where my mind is filled with peace and joy, which allows my physical body to be rejuvenated. Creativity is my foundation to everyday life events. Last week, I was able to move into the bliss of my foundation. The artwork below is what arrived from the creativity of my day.
One more "Chevron Delight" with a little more grunge. I Love it!
SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR MOM Aunt Phyllis traveled around the world to complete the genealogy for their family (Paternal side), she was unable to unearth genealogy for their Mother (my Grandmother), because she and her sister were placed on a Orphan Train, when they were 5 and 10 years old. Living in NY, Orphan Trains were quite common. When I visit with my Mom, we always like to chat about the genealogy of her family. It's amazing how family history travels through time. I decided on one of my visits to borrow some of the family history documents to use in one of my mixed media art pieces. Dates of documents, range from late 1700's to late 1800's, except for my Mom's birth certificate. There are five documents within the artwork that pertain to my Mom's family history. While thinking about my Mom, the artwork below is what flowed through me... The artwork will be professionally printed, framed and, presented to my Mom. Maybe, you will think about creating mixed media artwork for your family. It will be something special from you and, can be treasured by family members for a lifetime.
