I started this piece of artwork with a different look and feel in mind, although, as I moved along with the creative process, something totally new started to emerge.  The artwork quickly took on a life of it's own. I decided to go with the flow and allow the creativity to unfold. Maybe, the artwork can be called "A Serendipitous Surprise." I love being creative, it's not just something I do, it's actually who I am, an artist.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to create a magical world that is all my own. XO

Sometimes, I just like to throw a design together, like in "Child's Play." Children are very free with their creativity, no fear.  They just start drawing and painting without a care in the world.  How wonderful it is to be that free.... One of my goals for 2016, not to worry what others are thinking about my artwork.  To be able to create without inhibitions. How about you? How free do you want to be in life?  It's something to think about, because when we worry, it hinders our ability to create with freedom. Below, "Child's Play."

I had a wonderful time painting and designing the mixed media artwork. Wishing you the freedom to create with no worries.  Have a delight weekend. XO

I love the autumn weather, the leaves having been changing to their brilliant colors. Soon, Thanksgiving will be upon us, sharing with family and friends, laughter and joy. Ever since, I was a young girl, I have loved the holidays. The planning, the hustle and excitement...then, before we know it, the holidays have come and gone and, a new year has arrived.  What will you be planning for in the upcoming new year?  I hope you will make time to think upon which road you want to take in life and, when you decide, jump in with both feet. Today, I took the time to create new artwork, I am going to call it Reflections, as a reminder to myself to not reflect upon the past, but to move forward into the present and future.  I hope you will do the same.

Wishing you a day filled with laughter and joy. XO

That, I am now involved with Mixed Media.  Yup!!  That's correct.  I have found a "New Love" for my surface patterns.  It's all about risks when it comes to creativity. Remember, my last post, I wrote about the "Bliss" of creation? Well that's how we find the bliss, trying out new techniques, new mediums, paper, brushes, etc.  You know, where I am going with this post. Branch out and try a creative for yourself.  The artwork below is what I created in the studio today.  I hope you find a "New Love" with creativity, which will bring joy and happiness into your life.

May the rest of your week be full of "Bliss." XO

Over the years, my life and artwork have evolved, as with any other artist. We're aware as we move along in life, the twists and turns, will occur.  My life is a juggling act, I wear many hats throughout the day. My studio is a place where I can slip away in the bliss of creativity, where my mind is filled with peace and joy, which allows my physical body to be rejuvenated. Creativity is my foundation to everyday life events. Last week, I was able to move into the bliss of my foundation. The artwork below is what arrived from the creativity of my day.

One more "Chevron Delight" with a little more grunge.  I Love it!

My wish for you is to have a fabulous week. XO

Aunt Phyllis traveled around the world to complete the genealogy for their family (Paternal side), she was unable to unearth genealogy for their Mother (my Grandmother), because she and her sister were placed on a Orphan Train, when they were 5 and 10 years old.  Living in NY, Orphan Trains were quite common.

When I visit with my Mom, we always like to chat about the genealogy of her family.  It's amazing how family history travels through time.  I decided on one of my visits to borrow some of the family history documents to use in one of my mixed media art pieces. Dates of documents, range from late 1700's to late 1800's, except for my Mom's birth certificate. There are five documents within the artwork that pertain to my Mom's family history.  While thinking about my Mom, the artwork below is what flowed through me... The artwork will be professionally printed, framed and, presented to my Mom.  Maybe, you will think about creating mixed media artwork for your family.  It will be something special from you and, can be treasured by family members for a lifetime.

Sincerely, XO
